If you guys follow me on Instagram then you know the hubby and I recently celebrated our 4 yr wedding anniversary. I love celebrating our love because our love is the best kind of love, at least in my eyes. We were friends before anything and a close special bond was created because of that. He came to my life in a time I didn’t even know I needed him. But he really was the missing piece that I been yearning. Hes the best husband, father, step-father, provider and best friend.
To celebrate “us” we headed out east to Long Island. We have been doing this every year since we got married. Its our favorite place, our hidden gem and we just love it out at the East end of Long Island. This year instead of hitting up the Hampton’s we headed over to the North fork part of Long Island. This includes Mattituck, Greenport, Jamesport etc. We had an amazing weekend.
Here’s our anniversary weekend recap:
First Stop was Some Wine Tasting! We headed out to Palmer Vineyards one of the best wineries in the east end located in Northville. The day was gorgeous for some out door sitting, music listening and wine sipping.
We then headed out to grab some lunch at the Old Mill Inn. I follow the Old Mill Inn on Instagram and was excited to finally stop by for some lunch by the water. This local restaurant is all the hype. fresh, friendly, and beautiful views.
Next Stop the town of GreenPort. Greenport is a water town located at the tip of the island. Thus beautiful town is filled with old beautiful homes, a street lined up with restaurants, ice cream parlors and quaint shops. Totally my type of place. By the water they have a gorgeous carousel and plenty of greenery for the kiddies to run around.
After a full day we headed to our hotel for some R&R….
The next day we woke up early, had breakfast and headed out for some more exploring. We headed to Horton Point Park to check out the beach and Lighthouse museum.
The Stairs down to the beach is an experience all on its own…
The beautiful beach didn’t disappoint either…
After some rock throwing and climbing up those stairs lunch was in order, an so we headed to the new The North fork Shack! I loved this place, the atmosphere, the food, and the design were amazing! My camera dies at this point and I didn’t get to take any pics 😦 but follow the North fork shack on instagram to see this lovely place.
We had an amazing weekend exploring and doing what we love. This trip made us realize how much we love it out there and made our decision to move out east. We always talked about having a summer home out there but the more we go the more in love we fall so full time living will be the North Fork for us. And now the journey begins, to house hunt and start a new chapter in our lives. Don’t for get to follow along on all my social media!
And suddenly you just know it’s time to start something new & trust the magic of new beginnings
